BUILDING YOUR VESSEL
We get a lot of questions about what you can and can’t use to build your vessel or how big or small you can make it. Read away, dear floater, as we do our best to answer them for you.
WHAT CAN I USE?
Just about anything you want to build your craft out of is okay by us. Do you have some extra lumber? Make a raft. A canoe that you want to dress up? Make a raft. 14 rolls of duct tape and 200 milk jugs? If you can float it, it’s in. We encourage everyone to be creative and have fun designing their craft.
HOWEVER, we do ask that you avoid anything that will leave a mess or pollute the water. The river is used by all of the Interior (including the fishies) so please be mindful of the environment.
I HEARD I CAN WIN SOMETHING
That’s right. All crafts will be given a number the day of the registration. This is used by the judges to determine who wins some fantastic prizes donated to the Regatta by our sponsors.
We do ask that you avoid full enclosures on your float. The safety risk is too great if it should sink and someone is stuck inside. ALL crafts will need to have an adequate way for people to get out of their float should it go underwater.
